Hi,

As title, when I did my rear brakes, I noticed one of the drum retaining screws was missing. I ordered some SA108161 but it turns out these are a different size/thread.

My drums are the 11" style on an ex-mod if it makes any differences.

Cheers.

I found the same on my 92 civilian Defender. The retaining screws I ordered for my age defender were the wrong size so one of my drums is missing the screw as well.

having the screw or not doesnt matter though they do help with brake adjusting wheel off, though you could use wheel nuts for that , that is the right number

Cheers. Bit of a mystery that then. When compared with the screw from the other drum, it's a totally different thread.

I've got a bit of vibration from the back end under moderate to heavy braking. I've been advised to centre the shoes and drums by removing and refitting the wheels whilst having someone hold the brake on, so I thought while I was there, I would try to resolve the mystery screw! Knowing it's not there is driving me ever so slightly (more) nuts!

I ordered a couple for my rebuild... they were too big so used the old ones.

I ordered these. Are your screws too big or too small?
