Hi,

My rear nearside brake is dragging abit on my P38, noticed a break smell and touched all the wheels and that corner alone was too hot to touch! Does this happen alot, is it most likedly the pistons in the caliper or the sliders, or somthing else? I re-greeced all the sliders with copper brake greece when i changed the discs and pads last year. What is the best soloution, am i best just getting a new caliper?

Cheers, Rich.

If you cleaned the sliders properly and put Copaslip grease on them they should still be fine. Take a look, if sliders are free it can only be piston seized. If the seal is damaged you get a build up of rust on the lip where the piston goes in. When your pads have worn down a little the piston starts to protrude from its housing jams on the rusty lip

I will take it off and have a look at that, it could well be my problem. The sliders on that corner were ceased on that corner last year, hence i pulled them out and greaced them up. One of them was slightly damaged from corrosion, I suspect it may now be the problem.

Cheers, Rich.
