Brake carrier price

Hi anybody else astounded by the price of brake carriers on freelander1 1999 1.8 looking at £150 for one anybody found way around this . part number leh100090.

most of the time the carrier is serviceable clean up ok and purchase pin kits ?

Possibly won't fit a '99 - different non-vented brakes.

Having said that, might be cheaper to buy all new MY01 parts if they will bolt onto the hubs and wheels fit over them (the '99 5 spoke 15" wheels won't for sure).

Yeh I’ve seen those but they don’t fit . Why such a big price difference

I presume because LR are running low on stocks, they have knocked the price up to wring every last penny out of their parts bin.

And presumably there are no aftermarket parts available. These were only used for 3 years, so there may not be a big enough market for people to make parts for.

I would do the sums and consider upgrading to the later brakes. If its about the same price, you will have better supplies going forward and better brakes to.

As I say, you will probably need to replace the wheels also to clear the bigger brakes.
