I need to replace mine due to the clicking and buzzing I get. It's also possibly due to an ABS ring but I'll start with the easy stuff.

Am I right in saying there's an equivalent Saab/GM part that can be used which is half the price of the LR Wabco part?

Just the pump, Keith.

The brakes can sometimes work okay, other times you touch them slightly and the anchors come hammering down and the car stops. Sometimes, when you're applying the brakes, they click away.

You mean the brakes lock on?
If so, it needs diagnostics, that's not a symptom of pump failure or pressure sphere failure as far as I'm aware.

No no, they don't lock on, it just takes very little pressure to apply them hard.

So I can be driving along, use the brakes and it clicks.. takes a bit of pressure. If I let off while it's clicking then apply again, the brakes are hard and a small touch will apply them hard. Does that make sense?

I've checked them over a number of times with Nanocom but there are never any errors of any sort.

OK, can you feel the click through the pedal? If so, I think it will be one of the valve discs in the modulator, it's a known problem and can lead to total brake failure. A guy in OZ makes SS replacements for the plastic original.
The modulator was modified on later cars, should have been a recall in my opinion.

Yes, can feel it. It's the same kind of feeling you get on other cars when abs kicks in - that rapid click/buzz that you can feel in the pedal.

When I'd had done research before, I was sure people put that down to either a damaged ABS ring and/or the accumulator?

The ABS sensor is a five minute job. Just reach under there and the sensor and springy-thing it sits in prise out. Held in with some sort of white stuff that is listed in RAVE. Might be worth giving it a tickle?

Shall have a looksee.

Can't remember but I'm sure when it was last up on the ramps it looked like the teeth in the ring were worn. May be mixing up the cars though and remembering it on a different car.

Yep, a series of clicks.

I believe they're part of the hub, right? I need to replace them on both sides anyway as the bearings are shot.

The sensors are not part of the hub, they push in, but if the hub bearings are are shot, there's your problem, the movement may have pushed a sensor back.

The sensors aren't but I think the teeth it counts are. Think that is what he is referring to?

Datatek is right though, if the wheelbearings are shot then the sensors will be picking up duff readings.

Gonna necro this.

So, after my journey up norf this weekend, the only thing letting the RR down was the brakes. Discs, pads and hubs at the front were replaced last week. I still have this clicking going on.

I've read plenty of threads here on the forum about clicking brakes and the ABS etc but so far I've not been able to identify an issue the same as mine. With the new hubs, the teeth wont be an issue any longer. Next thought was the plastic washer in the modulator, but according to Wammers and Datatek, I should have the metal washer (https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/brake-failure.239619/#post-2791562).

Just to recap, I get a clicking noise (and feel) from the brake pedal. This can be from any kind of braking (hard, soft, etc) and the clicking can continue after I've released the brake i.e. foot no longer on the peddle however the later only happens for under a second.

No issues on diagnostics that I can see (Nanocom).

Any suggestions/ideas/recommendations please folks? This is the last of the annoying problems I have to sort and would like to get it done before crappy weather comes :)

Cheers.

Do a full bleed of the system, see what you get, clicking can be air in the modulator.
