Greetings

After 8 years of defenders I ,somehow, talked the better half into a Freelander.
Off course we did the expected thing and bought the first one that was in the right price range and colour.

It's a three door hardtop L series.

I've checked the forum , briefly, and nobody seems to be bothered about the ,none mechanical, noise the thing makes.

Mine seems to boom at 30mph in 4th ,is this right and the trim/doors etc. have lots of rattles.

Is this to make it sound like a defender, it doesn't work, the defender is so noisey mechanically , you cannot hear the bits falling offf!!!

Anyone got any specific areas that they know can be quietened. Or does someone do a kit?

Sorry about the title , I'll get the hang of this honest.
Re 'don't forget to remorgage' . Her last car was a Tigra and that was a soul destroying thing to drive and it was not cheap. What price your soul? I have made one mistake though I didn't realise it was an electronic version of the Prima or I might have thought twice.

Re 'turn up the cd' yea Ok but my mates repmobile is built by ford and it sounds /feels more solid and 'built' than the FL. Ok not as light, roomy or fun. Anyway, all my loud cds are in the defender. Seriously should it boom like it does at 30mph in 4th ? is it a fueling thing?or the VC trying to cope with a bizzare drive train?

I've had it a bit longer now and as i am driving it the most at the moment , upto 200 miles a day. I'm getting used to its little ways. Above 30 it pulls well enough and I think a bit more fuel at 30 will help, Anyone ever fittted one of those helical things in the air intake at all , they are supposed to bring the turbo in a bit sooner that might fool the MAS into increasing the fueling?

Anyway it handles well and I have no complaints about its manners , just the noisey bits.
