Hi
I have recently inherited a 1970 series 2a swb Land Rover , in the back , with various rotting objects was an old Shelly bottle jack LJ 25 ( 0 or C ) BH 4 ..would anyone be know if this was original? And if it was provided with the Land Rover when new , where was it stored ?
Many thanks
Matt

That’s the one exactly... maybe it’s the original.. going to take it to bits and clean it up tomorrow will post a photo .. and many thanks

I have the exact same kit in my ‘74 series 3. As tottott says, rods behind seat with clips. The jack is wrapped in a piece of carpet in the box under the passenger seat, along with the wooden handle. I use the jack, though it could do with a service, as it no longer fully retracts. It would be interesting to know what years they were standard issue??

Just looked on line and , as always , there is a classic “ jacks “ website ! Loads of Shelly jacks appears the. 1950 jack was used in landys till 74 .. cant see obvious fixings for the jack handle behind the seats but then I am not sure the bulkhead , or anything yet for that matter , is original! Many thanks
