Booming sound from the air intake?

Just had the valves and seats reground and a broken valve guide replaced on a 2.5NA. put everything back together - started fine and sounded smooth, but 2 injectors were weeping. Forgot the small metal seals on the injectors and so took them back off and fitted the seals. Started it up and a pulsing sound like a bucket being kicked hard is coming from the air intake. Engine idles ok - Any ideas? :confused:

for me, sounds like a noise coming from the valves. maybe you should check again the adjustments/leaks (could be an exhaust valve which doesn't close properly)

If the compression is OK, don't bother.

Intakes are VERY noisy.

Checked the valves - one rocker was way out - must have missed it in sequence. was only opening for a fraction of the cycle - :doh: Sounds fine and runs like a dream now.
