This morning, when i started my DHSE, the dreaded book and exclamation mark symbols appeared on the HEVAC display.
the footwell air was cold and the windscreen air hot (with the temp set hot). then after about a 1/2 hour journey, next time i started the car, everything was fine and the book and exclamation symbols had gone.
Any thoughts?
cheers

if its sorted itself out make sure you cycle em all from time to time to keep everything mobile! rr's suffer from loads of things and it seems arthritis of the blend motors too!!

thanks for the advice. i don't usually move the heating controls much and so it might be a bit seized. i'll cycle it a bit more cos the whole blend motor thing seems a nightmare
cheers

I have had the same problem every 3 or 4 months for about 4 years, i will wait untill i need to have it in bits for something else before i investigate the blend moter issue

As others have written...cycle all the distrubution settings a few times from floor to screen and temperature (Both sides) from LO to HI around once every month or so, this will give the blend motors a "Workout".
Also, particularly in the winter, run the aircon for a few minutes every month as this will ensure that the compressor gets some oil round the insides.

The HEVAC does a self check cycle when the ignition is switched on, any faults..other than "Hard faults" which have sorted themselves will be cleared.:behindsofa:

My distrubution motor would sometimes stick on screen only vent and bring up the book in the display, i forgot where i got this tip from but it does work, well has for me anyway.

I removed the 2 vents in the centre of the dash board and drilled a small hole in the heater box and gave it a short burst of WD40 and no more trouble for about six monthes then i have to do it again, please dont say "you must be jokeing " as i can assure you it works, try anything rather than pulling the dash apart

cheers folks.i'll cycle the controls regularly as you suggest. Think i might hold back on the WD40 idea for now though. (i have visions of my wife being coated in a fine mist of WD40 when she turns the air con on) now thats a proper perfume!!
