the bonnet catches can be adjusted. maybe thats all it needs ? or the locking catch is worn ? in which case it will need replacing :)

I got issues with me catch also. well it locks when I put some hefty force on it! the pull bit from within the landy dont pull, seized or sutting I guess.

mates bonnet catch was realy stiff and felt jammed today, cleaned the catch with with that bolt loosening spray stuff then blathered it in chain grease- jobs a good'un now

My bonnet lever snapped off in me hand-keep a pair of bonnet pliers in the glove box to grab stubby end-need to get another lever

A wet lubricant should never be used on a bonnet cable, twill only make matters worse eventually by attracting dust etc. Pull the inner cable from the outer tube and apply graphite powder along its length and work it in, then slide cable back into outer, do up the catch and ya be able to pop the bonnet with the tip of ya finger for ever after. And that goes for most locking parts as well, keep the friggin jungle juice WD40 type **** away from most moving parts and they last longer.
