LOL,

The car is going back to the dealers tomorrow, So I would hope they would fix the bonnet release under warranty..................

Cheers

Yep, fuel pump. always sounds like it's coming from under the rear wing. Quite normal, unless you can still hear it when you're inside the car.

Hold on guys......lets not upset @sierrafery , this post has now segued from a bonnet problem via the eka to a fuel pump noise.........he has already said it confuses him.....:p:p

Cheers.

If you get some 16th steel strip about an inch and a half wide and a foot long and cut out a 1" square 1" from one end then take out the n/ s headlight and put the steel bar in behind the lock, engage it on the tang and pull it will open, you probably need another pair of eyes to tel you when its in the right place by looking through the grille

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to remove the n/s headlight unit, or the o/s headlight coming to that without causing any damage you have to open the bonnet to gain access to the clips holding them in place.
A bit of chicken and egg, methinks.

You'd think so wouldn't you? If you get a good enough grip on headlight, just with your fingers, it'll pop out of the cups. I did it the other day on a disco with a severly bent bonnet that had hit a tree

I know there's quite a lot of threads about this already, but I'm really new to it all and trying to find a solution.
I brought my disco a few days ago, stupidly, I didn't have a clue what to look out for and no sooner I got it home I found loads of issues with it, one of them, the bonnet won't open.
It opened twice when I brought it home, but I needed a second person to pull the lever while I pressed on the bonnet, but now after several attempts, I can't open the bonnet. I've tried sticking wire in to locate the pull thing,
And think I found it, but nothing happens.......any ideas folks, anything is appreciated for this newbie!

Matt
Just read thread to nowhere, so went back and had better look for myself.
Cable had come off from pull handle, I had tried pulling cable T-piece without success.
I relocated T-piece into handle then re-secured plastic end piece into C-clip, there are three grooves, I used end one nearest handle. Took a bit of pulling but bonnet popped open.
Now I need to re-adjust cable to hopefully stop a repeat ?

I slammed mine onto a socket wrench..

Wedged it tighter than a Nuns back porch..

A few hardy thumps on the bonnet sorted it

If your'e working from the front of the car pulling the catch is somewhat counter intuitive. The catch actually pulls to the left (looking at the front of the car). I know this cause I have just changed the cable. The cable comes back on itself.

Thanks.
Bonnet is now open and I guess cable will have to be replaced.
They are about £20 but does this include latch or will I have to attach cable to existing ?
