Not sure about it making them better "matey"

But you notice it makes the engine noise louder ??
Why's that ?

That is induction noise matey. Just the same as you would get if you removed the filter altogether or stuck a oiled tea towel over the filter housing. Apart from making you think it sounds more powerful they do f**k all.

Have to agree with this. In the large majority of cases you'll actually end up losing power, not gaining it.

This is my view on k&n they do let a better air flow when new , but with age and cleaning the filters can be over Oiled ( maf ) but most owners don't change them regularly enough and the Material breaks down causing dust Particles to enter the system . On the p38 you have two choices on blanking a blank off kit or block it with the penny no one has made a DIY blank off for the l332 like the penny on the p38 so what's wrong with the kit:confused: not a waste if it stops the egr getting gummed up and causing a nuisance .

As for the exhausts go for it I'm going to get ss replacements when mine fall off .

As least your looking after it nothing wrong with being proud of what you have !!

Enjoy.

For the EGR, all you have to do is stop the valve operating and it is effectively blocked.
Look at the charts, K&N does not give better airflow even when new, it's all about image.

Maybe not on a two ton tank , but on a highly tuned bike it will, law of physics the more air and fuel you let in and the faster you can let it out you will gain more .

No more air and fuel does that's why they put then on racing bikes as a standard filter won't draw as much air to burn the increases fuel .

There is only so much air a normally aspirated engine can draw in. That is increased above cylinder capacity by valve overlaps and exhaust scavenging. And only occurs when the engine is on cam in it's power band. But tops out at around 137%, after that it does not matter if the filter is Platignum plated solid gold you won't get any more air in.

Yes, but a. Standard engine hasn't had every thing maxed out that's why there is room for improvement not in a tank, but a light Wieght bike it would make a marked improvement.
