Bolt Identification help needed

When I took the Landy apart I was a good (ish) lad and labelled most things up.
I put these six bolts on the windows sill and didn't label them. That tells me that I must have thought it was obvious where they were from. That was two years ago and I hadn't taken my age in to account. I've been thinking it would become obvious as I was putting stuff back on, but most big bits are on and I haven't needed them. I've bought a lot of new bits, but can't think where I've replaced these. Possibly the YRM front tub and seat belt mount repair panels, but I don't think these are seat belt bolts.
They have a flanged head and nylock nuts. The thread is 25mm long and the bolt is 10mm diameter. Of the six, two of them are cleaner than the other four and so must have been in a less exposed position, although the other 4 aren't too bad. The nuts are in worse condition than the bolt head, so may have been on the outside. On the top of the bolt I think is stamped ATLAS A.8 in a circle with an M between the altas and the A.8

Cheers, Speckydude. I can see why six bolts would make you think of that, but that's not it. Appreciate you thinking about it though.

they are m10 but about 30mm long ,they secure theses

Yes, they are the same. But, as you say, they are shorter. They are possibly in too good a condition to have been holding the trailing arm bush on for 20 years.

That window sill looks very clean given that it's had a handful of bolts sitting on it for two years. You'd expect dust, cobwebs and dead flies, surely?

They're probably ones that have now been replaced by new ones. Given how short they are it looks like they were used for fixing sheet metal together (rather than castings or forgings), so look for things around 3-6 mm thick.

Plenty dust, cobwebs and dead flies have been removed over the years! The whole windowsill is lined up with various fixings and small parts, some new.

Message from under my landy:

They look very similar to the bolts that hold the bump stops on. I only know this cos I went and bought new, my old ones were beyond recognition but I guess you could have been lucky.... (Or had new bump stops recently before rebuild....)

Not that lucky, gse1986. The bump stop bolts, like yours, were very rusty.
I think these must have been off something internal. It's a mystery, but shows the huge importance of labelling everything very clearly. Even if you think you can't forget where they are from at the time. Two years later and an increasingly forgetful memory - not a good combination!

My guess would be that they aren't oem but more likely to come from a bolt on part or replacement nuts and bolts used to replace ones cut off previously.

Did you remove an accessory maybe that you've got no plans of refitting?

It's an interesting idea, but I can't think of any accessory I've taken off. I owned the vehicle for 10 yrs before I took it apart and so any accessory I'd have likely put on. Many thanks for giving it some thought, much appreciated.

No air-con or alarm fitted ?

No air con. Standard alarm fitted from new. It's embarrassing not remembering where they came from.

CD changer under the seat ?

A CD changer would be very posh. Sorry Dippypud

Ha, ha. well I'm hoping it is just something strange and not something important!
