Not sure I have got this right so please feel free to correct me, what I think is the A pillar on the outside (runs from the roof down the windscreen to the bonnet) looks like it has some sort of foam underneath it, but it is swelling out so it is out of shape, can anyone tell me what it is and how to repair it.

I'm going to try and sort out some leaking issues tomorrow (weather permitting) reading up on here and I'm going to be doing the pollen filter and the plenum filter. I'd like to be able to do the sunroof but haven't found a kit as yet.
Also I'm really struggling to find the door seal, that goes along the top from front to back and how to fix it, it's come away from the top and no matter I try I can not get it to stay up.. any ideas??

There shouldn't be foam under the exterior a pillar, there should be a rubber strip between the trim and the glass tho. If you ever need new ones, let me no! Run a windscreen depot in oxford

Just had a similar problem to you. Initially it was the pollen filter housing on the left. The seal on the metal plate on top had compressed with age so a squirt of neutral cure silicone on the mating faces sorted that and a channel of the stuff over the edge where it meets the scuttle so the water drips off the edge rather than tracking along under the plate. You have to take off the wipers and plastic scuttle to get to it though. Once that was done I had water coming down the A pillar and wetting the floor mat. This sounds more like your problem though. The roof liner was also wet at the grab handle. You'll need a short step ladder or a platform to sort this one. Pull off the gutter channel panels and that will expose the leaf and dirt filled channels that you would fit a roof rack to (for whatever reason). Blow that with compressed air, wipe it dry and you will see where the roof panel and side panels are welded together. The seam sealer will be cracked - mine was all the way along. Give it a light scrape to provide a key and give it a line of silicone. Use your pinkie finger to get under the lip and smooth it down. I went over the front a little where the strip tucks in just to be on the safe side. Re fit the black strips and hope for the best. The other thing could be the sunroof drain channels in the front corners. You see them when the roof is slid backwards. Give them a gentle blow through in case there is any crap in them too. They can leak there as well so have a look between the roof liner and the roof itself to check. My floor is now dry again even after this recent rain. You do not want water running down into the electrics of these cars - ever! I mentioned neutral cure silicone. I used to always use the vinegar smelling stuff but that contains acid so not the best thing to apply to metal when you think of it. The neutral stuff is also called builder's silicone and is about a £1 dearer for a tube. It doesn't smell like a fish supper for weeks after either.
