FL2 Freelander 2013, I'm having problems with the boot not opening whilst the engine is running and have had
had a scan carried out by a local garage and it's saying BCM maybe causing the problem together with the
electronic handbrake not working. They have said I need to have the module sent away have have it checked out?

Is there a test that I can do before taking this module out of the car, maybe disconnect the battery to see if it re-sets.

Your comments out be appreciated.

I thought it was normal for the boot to not open while the engine is running if it's been programmed to do that. I'm pretty sure one of my FL2s was like that.
The EPB is controlled by the EPB module, which is mounted in the boot.

What codes are coming up?
I can't see the relevance of messing with the CJB, as they're very reliable, and it's just one of some 35 different modules fitted to this vehicle.

As long as the EPB is functioning, then yes I'd also leave it alone.

Totally agree with Nodge, lots of functions run through the BCM. A BCM DTC just means the fault is on that circuit, it is unlikely to be a BCM/CJB fault.
If there is a hard fault it is more likely to be in a connector somewhere.
