Something is not right over the last few weeks there seems to be a fair bit of light haze on startup then clears but this morning the haze drifted like a cloud, as far away as about 20 feet and lingered, I drove to work and for the first mile I could see smoke / steam or whatever, when I got to work (15 miles) it was perfectly clear, thinking all sorts is it the turbo, bores, injectors, bought oil and filters for a change just in case then I noticed the coolant level was quite low, seem to remember topping it up quite recently, ......... only other thing I have changed recently is the fuel cooler, can there be a crossing over of water to fuel, ...or is it head gasket time, how will I know...:-(

And this morning Nothing, I wonder if it was water in the fuel, will drain filter to check tonight, fingers crossed.

Water/coolant will be a white smoke ( it is steam after all), a blue smoke is oil, if its diesel it will be a greyblueish colour and will linger about. Its quite acrid too if you can get a sniff of it. A bottle of injector cleaner wouldn't go amiss anyway

Summing it up recon I have a small leak into one cylinder overnight, a bit knocking to start, the hoses are not pressured, buying top end kit next week, and possibly getting the head skimmed, fan belt needs done as well.
