Hi Gents. I have searched till I can search no more, and am now wondering if the post I have seen was observed through the beer goggles.
I am trying to look for a picture of an installation in a Defender dash, which showed one of those stand alone bluetooth speaker thingys, tidily mounted in the usual space for a cd radio head unit.
Seems to me to be the ideal, easiest and cheapest ways of getting sounds in the truck, without giving the thieving *~#$'@ds something to feast their eyes on.
If I remember correctly someone had already done this very neatly. So why reinvent the wheel?

Cheers

Not sure what you mean by bluetooth unit. My stereo has bluetooth build in and uses the usual speakers. the mic then just runs behind the dials, up the pillar and comes out under the headlining half way along the door. It's a JVC stereo and cost £80-90 on ebay.

same here, £40 halfrauds bargain, headunit with built in bluetooth, can use as a handsfree or to play music off my phone.
it also takes SD cards, USB or CDs, as well as t' radio ;)

I can't. It's great. "sorry can't hear you"! Now I don't get in trouble for ignoring her indoors. On a serious note it works perfectly and my defender is rather noisy inside.

There are some portable Bluetooth speakers on amazon, and some have hands free built in. I was looking at them but decided not to bother for now as I really don't think I would hear the music or the calls.
