Hi all,

During a recent thread here that has helped me understand a lot more about my P38, some members talked about the engine bay fusebox and 'blueing' of the terminals of fuses and/or relays.

This effect is presumably as a result of poor connections causing arching and oxidation leading to poor connectivity, problems and more arching.

Is it enough to clean the terminals and observe them at periods to see if it re-occurs? Does warping and cracking of the circuit boards over time cause this as some have suggested and is a replacement fuse box the only action to take?

Can the old one be restored?

Unleash the fuse box stories!

Thanks in advance,

D

Bluing is caused by a bad contact causing heat. Heat causes the board to warp and spring contacts to lose temper compounding the problem. If your fuse box has any burning on it anywhere change it. If a relay has any bluing on any of it's pins change that also.

Wot he said^^^^^^

I bought a bulk lot from some geezer in a car park a few days ago so I'll bring that if Keith can supply the Anal beads this time round, ours broke and we are still trying to retrieve....

Will bring some batteries for Keiths pacemaker. It's upsetting for the girls when he turns blue like that. Have you tried making a small hook in a metal coat hanger?
