My wife was driving myself & the girls today, and I opened the passenger vanity mirror.

The light came on then went off. I thought it was odd and suspected a dodgy switch.

Later on the journey of about 80 miles or so I checked the clock and thought, that's odd, it's not working.

When we arrived at our destination, the brother in law wanted to look around the car as he hadn't seen it before. The interior lights weren't working either. That was when I thought, ah, blown fuse. Located the correct fuse, it was blown, put a spare in and everything was working fine.

Time to come home and I checked the tripmeter. I though odd. I know I had done more miles than that on the tankful of fuel.

The interior light fuse has the trip meter on the same circuit. It has been fine since then.

That fuse does the permanent live circuit on the car so interior lights, memory backups and so on.

I've had something similar where my trip meter has reset but the interior lights & radio have all still been working.
Can't tell if the clock has kept the right time or not because the display is broken!

Any idea how to remove the vanity switch unit so I can fix it? I can't see how it is attached to the visor at the moment. I can remove the mirror no problem, but how does the rest of it come away?

I think it's glued in. I cut mine open a bit as I wanted to get to the spring thing inside that holds the flap up/down but gave up as I was making a mess of it.
