HI Guys.
I recently posted a thread with regards to my defender td5 blowing fuses and thought the problem was solved but to no avail its back with vengence. I have replaced the fuses with correct ampage fuses, renewd all the bulbs indicators/flashers,cleaned and dried all the bulb sockets and connections i did notice one was a little rusty.Could this be the problem? Replaced the four pin relay/flasher,Replaced the hazard switch. One more go at solving the problem if i have no joy its up for sale.

You're selling it because it's blowing fuses? Surely there must just be a bad connection that you haven't found or a really dodgy earth? My 90 keeps blowing the back left brake light. Don't know why. Might start a thread actually.

Just hacked off with it pos. My mate is selling a defender so sell mine buy his no headache.

Oh right! I didn't know you were buying another! Good man! Still... won't you be slightly sad to see it go?

I take it that its the indicators that are blowing then?

It sounds like it could be a short from a wire onto the body somewhere.

Is it just one side that is causing them to pop? I will assume for now it is, I would check where the wires go through the bulkhead etc... my left hand side flashers poped fuses and it turned out to be the wires down the back of the water bottle had rubbed through and was earthing onto the heater frame.

Aye spot on discomania, the left side same as yours. will put that to the auto electric man tomorrow

hi there
i had a bit of trouble with indicators
every time i put the left hand ones on the wipers blades went on constant, same if i put the lights on(earth had broke in the inner wing)
tried every thing i could gave up phoned an auto electrician he put a jump lead from the engine block to the body and the wipers never moved so he knew it was a bad earth, sorted the problem in 20 mins then wired up my spotlights and fixed the dash lights all for £45.00
