Blowing dash light fuses

Hi all,

Got a problem with the defender, its a 1992 200TDI.

The fuse that is for the light in the speedo keeps blowing, it seems that this fuse also controls the passenger side side lights so i've got no side light/brake on passenger side and no speedo light.

Any ideas what it could be? Could it be earths?

It shouldn't be an earth problem (or at least not with the earth cables), more likely one of the live cables has chafed on something metal and is intermittently shorting out and blowing the fuse. Have a look where wiring passes through bulkhead holes or is bent around metal corners as they are the normal chafe points

Look dash apart and found it, break in the wire just behind the clocks. Bit of tape on it now to hold untill i get round to rewiring.
