What a bodge tastic motor i have.
Well i had to pull out of the trip to salisbury plains today as a door on my disco decided not to shut.
Spent today instead fixing it, luckily i was just able to take the mechanism out and just spray it with lube to get it working again.. but i did get to see what sort of bodges had been going on, some joker has had the door apart before, didnt plug the window switch in, theres also a massive blob of glue where someone has tried to glue the door closed
the other side some joker has put the window switch in upside down! the window switches in the console only work 3 of the 4 windows, the rev counter keeps turning off when driving and then popping back on, the rear wiper doesnt work at all, no idea if its even getting power. Then theres the oily bits.. well most of the oil seems to be heading for the road at the moment its marking its territory pretty well, need to address that really but i dont want to spend any money on it, so far its cost me £5 in fuses and some spray lube, guessing valve cover gaskets will need replacing at the least. The tyres are dodgy remoulds and need replacing, which i just cant do so im stuck at sub 60mph unless i want my fillings rattled out. Theres a power steering fluid leak somewhere but not sure where yet, the thing randomly cuts out when it changes over to LPG, sometimes its fine so not sure what that is either.. oh and the battery is shot so if you leave a door open for more than 1/2 hr it wont start again.
