Hi, yesterday I spent a long time buggering about with removing the drivers side blend motor. after stripping ,I established that the motor was functioning and that there was little resistance on the flap. replaced all and the dreaded book symbol disappeared .This morning it returned. Nanocom showed short circuit (54) on r/h blend motor and I could not move the flap using the Nanocom. to establish to myself that the motor was still working,I connected 2 wires to the connector block I used to refit the motor, and using a 9 volt battery I can move the flap whilst in situ. Am i right in supposing that the fault therefore is in the control panel not sending the signal to move the motor and is there a known repair for this. everything else on the HEVAC works.

might be same issue I have with intermittent connection in the multi-pin connector where the blend motors plug into HEVAC controller.

One day I will get around to changing the connector, but for now it works 98% of the time.

Just spent more time on my blend motor issue, and noticed a potential conflict that maybe someone can help me with. my nanocom shows distribution motor stalled, but on the displays showing positions it shows distribution flap changing as i alter settings however it shows r/hand blend motor not moving. Is it possible o you think the PO has fitted the two motors in the wrong place (i believe that both motors are the same and they fit one above the other) this would then show the correct motor on nanocom but connected to the wrong flap . Does this make sense or am I not seeing something. thanks in advance.

Yes that is quite possible. But it is far more likely that the distribution flaps are stalled than a blend flap.

Thanks its just that the nanocom is saying that its dist motor is stalled but visually on nanocom its showing it moving and ive had the top blend motor off and it works fine.and my electrical knowledge is limited anyway. my knowledge of the nanocom is very limited. still onward and upward thanks again

The top unit is the distribution motor have you tried moving the distribution quadrant? It could be seized. Have the complete units and cables been changed or has someone just cut the cables and joined them up. In that case it is quite possible the motors are in the wrong place. Harder to do if complete new units and cables have been changed because cables are different lengths. But maybe still do able.
