Hi there, I know there are lots of threads on bleeding the Discovery 2, I have read all of them and followed all the advice and have got no further. So, my brakes lines burst during 1st lock down, I wasn't going anywhere so let it sit dry. Eventually changed the lines, flexes, Master cylinder etc but had a terrible peddle but okay brakes. Now its MOT time and I just can't get a good peddle. The HAweye says I have a 4014 Historical fault. Does this mean the shuttle valve are sticking or does the historical bit mean it's an old code that has been cleared? Will this affect my ability to bleed ABS properly? Will that rewire trick solve this problem.

Many thanks and praises in advance!

Cheers

Adam

Hi, the SVS fault has nothing to do with the pedal's function nor with bleeding, a hystorical code would not come back after it was erased as long as the problem is not current. If you have the 3 amigos on and that fault code keeps coming back then the SVS wiring mod should help. As about the bleeding you have to power bleed first then pedal bleed in the proper sequence

Hi, thanks for that, it's helpful to know that the historical SVS issue is not the issue I have with bleeding. I don't have the 3 Amigos and I just checked the Hawkeye again and it read no faults. Is it okay to power bleed into a non return valve line or should it just be an open tube into a jar of DOT 4?

Thanks

A
