Hello Land Rover lovers, I just got a Blackberry curve 8900. MISTAKE!!!! It wont send contact names to the stereo in my Freelander 2. All I get is a long list of numbers and god knows who is who.

I have tried many different setup variations but nothing has worked.

I have emailed Blackberry for a solution who said contact the network (O2) who said contact Land Rover. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What the heck do I do when the world is full of spineless a****s who wont accept that the problem is their responsibilty to fix. (not Land Rover)

Anyway, it cant be Land Rover at fault because 3 previous phones with different manufacturers worked like a dream and I wont hear a bad word said against the noble name haha!

Has anyone else got this problem?? If so please please please please email me and let me know if and how you have fixed it.

All the best.
Land Rovers rule!!!

Nah, ma Rasberry works just fine,,,,:rolleyes::rolleyes: an if it does fail i just use the old paper cups an a very long piece of string,,,,,:cell:---------------:cell:
O'h and nice of you to say hi,,,,,:welcome2:,,,,,,,,

It is most likely a LR issue (how old is you Freebie?) as I have had three different models of Blackberry and they all work fine with my Parrot

And yes I'm waiting for all your funny replies about my Parrot.

Hey guys, sorry its been ages since I got near a computer. Its an 07 freelander. Yeah I think Id be as well using the paper cups and string solution haha! Think I'll just change the phone really.

Yup checked its up to date but still wont display contact names. I'm just going to change the phone, it seems to be the only option now. Thanks for the advice.

With mine, its the car kit that gets the software update to accept contact details, not the phone. Unfortunately with my new phone it doesnt do that, and the software version in the kit seems to be newer than the "latest" from the manufacturers website, go figure.

So what I did, was use my old phone it did like, send all the contacts to the car kits own memory, then let it figure out names from the number when my new phone rings.

Blackberry is fine in my landy. Never had a problem with them. They often fall in through the windows from the hedgerows while we're out laning. Had some sloes once too!
