Evening lads on the computer at work an i cant search the site!

Just after a quick answer, Today i have been getting black smoke on accerlation, now yesterday i filled the tank (bloody expensive) and added some fuel injector cleaner.

Would this cause black smoke as it burns/cleans the injectors?

I understand the black smoke and how it arises but we dont use much injector cleaners in the CV12s at work!:D.

Just after a quick heads up really.

They do tend to run better after a dose of injector/fuel system cleaner - but watch your fuel filter doesn't clog up with **** out of the tank ;)

got a fresh filter pack ready for next week, plus new crank case breather, crank case breather pipe and gasket to remove and clean the inlet manifold. its gipping inside, some decent silicone hoses are next months!

This 110 will move quickly sometime in the future!;)

Here's a bit of info: Have a look what the contents of the injector cleaner is on the bottle ;) It won't say as most of em don't but they are kerosene :)

New veg oil is a very good fuel system cleaner too ;)

You'll notice that the intake gasket also incorporates the exhaust gasket into a single gasket - so the manifold will have to come off to change the gasket ;)

The gasket kit, i aquired contains all the gaskets seals for the top of the engine, just finding time between work to cary it out.

Have a butcher tommorrow the other half of the bottle is in the box of bits in the back of the 110.

Thats tonights reading/searching after the missus is in bed sorted! along with spring lengths !

People also use a couple of litres of petrol in a tank of diesel as a fuel system cleaner - cheaper than some of the specialist cleaners ;)

Cheers Daz. the full tank should last well into next month, and i,ve the other half of the bottle to use, but i,ll be reading up on yur suggestions, 110 is so underpowered at the moment just doing all the servicing and cheap fixes before i look at more pricer options!

If you are tweaking the turbo a turbo gauge is a good investment - so you can see what boost you are getting at different engine rpm/conditions.

Most recommend a max boost of 1 bar at the inlet manifold ;)

wea yu now, that i,ll be a "nice to have" once i,ve sorted out other wee issues, along wea my wee clouds of black i still get white on initial start up. chnaged the glow plugs and it aint as bad as it was. But the plugs i removed wervery wet, wondering if i need a new relay for that now!

wet plugs are normally ones that aren't working-test on a battery. Are you getting a 12v feed onto plugs when you turn ignition on?

i changed all four when i first bough the 110 5 weeks back, 3 out of the 4 were wet.

Since fitting them she starts much easier and the white isnt as bad , well today not really noticable at all, when i,m doing the rocker gasket next week i,m going to whip them out and see if the new ones are wet!
