Hello, I have joined this forum hopefully to get some help.
I have a Disco TDI 300 1998 with 70K miles, which I have had from new.
It has started to kick out black smoke when underload at low revs. The intercooler pipes have been replaced and the recirculating valve partially closed off. The problem has reduced by about 25%, but still lacks power when pulling away from standstill, and still black smoke.
The exhaust is sooty and oily. When run at high revs for a time the smoking stops, but after a few minutes at tick over the same problem returns.
Clearly, it is being choked of air. Does any body know how to cure the problem?
