My Series 3 needs a heater blower and despite asking on various different forums and flea-bay I can't seem to find one. Someone, somewhere suggested a bilge blower would do the trick. Has anyone done this or had any experience in that direction?

i have done it to my defender...easy to do and at least a 70% increase in output on a defender fan.connected it up to a off-on-off carling switch using existing wiring behind dash and running thicker cables to fan...one via an in line resistor.Go for it

Some good heaters on that link but I only need the blower to complete. A bilge blower doe sound rather nasty but all it is is a blower to vent noxious and flammable gases from the bilge on a boat, Also I can get one that looks about right for £25. Might need a bit of fabrication to get it mounted. Thanks for the reply anyway.

no worries...sure your more than capable of getting it to work but if you get stuck let me know and ill do what i can to help.bit of trimmng and modification needed to be done but no bigee

The original landy blower / heat exchanger is very expensive and difficult to source, possibly a discontinued part. Craddocks were quoting nearly 300 quid.

Hi Cabbie. I fitted one to my series 3. Originally I had it in place of the original fan but I would say the performance is about the same so now it is in line with it to get a bit more flow. I think I got the 3" one and it is held in by gaffer tape (see picture) it is surprisingly secure...

Sorry BB I don't know how to post links but if you search Bilge Blower on flea bay you will see the one I mean. Think it's about five down from the top and as I said, snail shaped.

Just copy the address bar of the page you want to link and paste it straight into the reply box here

For future reference :)

2500l/min? That should clear a screen :)

I tried finding out the capacity of orginal blowers a while back but couldn't find anything, my 2a managed about a litre of air a minute I think :p
