Hi again all.

When i bought the p38 I didn't realise how many places you could get coolant leaks from. I think its because it has been standing before I bought it.
Anyway I changed the coolant , did the matrix seals, now the vapourisers are both weaping coolant from what I think is the main body joint, which I presume has the diaphragm clamped between it.

Can I leave them connected while I rejoint/seal it? Or do I have to just buy a kit and take them out ovehaul them.

They are bigas r20 (cast in the top). Oh and where is the best place for spares.

Cheers

Chris

I replaced the water pipes between heater tee joint and vapouriser recently,as mine had gone brittle and leaked water slightly when pipes had cooled down.

I will have to get out and have a closer look, could be the pipes or something running down. Both going at the same time?

Definitely the vaporisers.

Do I have to depressurize the whole gas system to get these out. It doesn't look like much to take them out?

Cheers

just changed mine..turn engine off..let cool down,put fag out.pulled off/unscrewed pipes.replaced vaporiser,did pipes back up.tested for leaks,,(soapy water)

only the gas in the pipes from the cutoff valve forward should escape..the gas in tank should stay in it.

you will stink of gas, wear old cloths.

Zen, thanks mate, just the info I was after.

I have found some repair kits on the net for 20 quid each.

Off they come.

Cheers
