Hi my landy has big chuncky nobbly tyres on it when i bought it and checked my tyre pressures before i hooked my caravan upto my landy to set off to sunny wales.
Im a bit confussed as the tyre pressues are set at 50lb which sounds high to me im also gettin a lot of tyre noise from the road can anyone tell me what the correct tyre pressures are for a 1995 300 TDI. Thanks.

50! Way too high, you'll get a million opinions as to what they should be tho'. You won't got far wrong with 30 all round.

Road noise? They're nobbly, 'course you'll git road noise!

Pretty darn irrelevant what the correct tyre pressure is for any particular vehicle if you haven't got the standard tyres on it. I run my 265/75/16 bfg muds at 40 psi for road use. Some people prefer less but I find much less than that makes for soggy handling and increased fuel consumption. It will vary as to what tyres you have, what kind of driving you're doing and most of all what your personl preference is.

I was being kind!

Another way to do it is to inflate a tyre until the bulge dissappears, then let it down a fraction until a very slight bulge is visible. Then set all your tyres to that pressure.

With all tyres, examine the small print around the side walls for the words

US and Canada codes only
Beside that it should give some pressure information, which applies WORLD WIDE, of course.

This gen includes maximum inflation pressure, max pressure to seat beads, and maximum load per tyre (and per PAIR) at some stated pressure.

If you have a Disco, think 40 psi all round for standard tyres as a ball-park figure, and LESS than that for all FATTER tyres.
