hi. i rang adrian flux today to get a insurance quote as i have a syenergy2 fitted they want to know what is the standard bhp for a 2004 td4 and what is the increase of bhp with syenergy 2 fitted any one know the correct figures. i have tried a search but found different views, thanks.

TD4 in standard form is 85bhp.

With a Synergy2a+ it could well be around 110 bhp. Or so RoverRon says.

It certainly feels like it.

I've never seen anyone post any dyno readings.

Would be interesting to hear what they were though.

Standard td4 is actually 110 to 115bhp. Roveron box is meant to take it upto approx 140bhp depending on setting.
The same engine in a BMW is rated at 160bhp, the best thing about a synergy is the torque increase........ Can't remember the figures but it's very very good.
I stopped using mine after it kept eating injectors and just use my motor bike or my 206 180gti which has been cat cammed and re mapped to 225bhp( at the wheels). Still returns 35mpgwhen driven normally.......we had an audi v6TT before that which was slower and struggled to get above 25mpg when driven sedately.

You're right - the figures I quoted are a load of cr*p

Went and looked up my source - load of cr*p.

All confused with KW or kW which I take it is KiloWatts.

Also noticed that the 2004 LandRover brochure quotes the power as 112Ps (82kW)

What on earth unit is Ps??? Is this Horse Power???

Do we still have Imperial Horses or are we now speaking Metric Horses.

Now even more confused.

been on another web site they say standard bhp is 110bhp rover rons site says the increase is about 25bhp making it 135bhp dose this sound about right.

New money ps (?) figure is less than old money hp. 100 hp = 105 (approx) ps.............. why can't stattos just leave it as it was? Horse power all the way!! :D

Mine starts off with a small horse(knackered pit pony)

Then at 2500 rpm it is joined by a team of six big thorourghbreds.

It will then gallop round to 5000 rpm still pulling strongly, until I shout Whoa.

I would like the big horses to join earlier.

Question.
How can I get the small horse to work harder:confused:

I would have have thought that with a re-map the power would have come in earlier.

I changed the MAF and fitted a Synergy and now the donkey I had before, has been reincarnated into a whole team of thoroughbreds. :D

Switchable to a team of Clydesdales on demand!

That's enough horse-talk.

It all depends what fuelling message the ECU sends and when the turbo comes in.

Even with the extra 'oomph' I get better mpg - but the turbo comes in much earlier about 1750rpm and really gets going around 2000rpm.

Singvogel.
