I got bfg all terrains on me disco had em on fa 2 years now, they still got a good bit of tread left , fa a start off the gibbon who put em on didn,t check camber so one front tyre cut away within 9 months, an failed mot the rest just seem to have worn unevenly even with regular tyre pressure checks, and the white lettering on sides just seems to scrub away , granted its parking along side kerbs, and you hav to sock a lot of pressure in em to get the squelsh out of em for road, thinking of general grabbers next time and i like the look of the new bfg mud terrains , wat u guys think??

Dont think they are over rated, they are proven the world over, I just "personally" think the BFG's are overpriced, the grabbers are so much better value for money and more or less identical.

so your slating a tyre cos its white lettering rubs off when you drive em along kerbs, and a tyre wore out cos someone fitted them incorrectly, and by the sounds of it your over inflating them:cool:

i got bfg MT's on my old off-roader 90 and cant praise them high enough mate had them better part of 5 years now still fair bit of tread on them now.
as to general grabbers got them on my 56 plate 90 and they are shyte on or off the road , my mt's are miles better on the road than them (and for mud tyres they are surprisingly quiete on the road)

I've got a set of bfg muds that have done about 50 thousand miles and have still got about 8-10mm tread on em They've worn perfectly evenly and have ben quiet on the road and excellent off the road. I regularly tow heavy trailers acros muddy fields and they've always got me where I need to go. Yes they're expensive but they are the best in my opinion.

Intersting to hear you think like that ref the grabbers, know LOADS of people with them on Disco 1 and 2's and generally well thought off.

I,ve got BFG AT,s on my Disco, and think they are worth every penny !
Only thing I,m slightly concerned about is that one was a write off after 19 days when a small stone went into it. I,m hoping it was just bad luck.

I would have had Grabbers if there was any available at the time.

The BFG,s on my truck pulled up onto the parking area at Devils Pit towing my 200tdi behind it.( well almost to the top ! ). I was amazed as it was a really, really wet.

Del.

If BF's did a tyre in the size I wanted I would get a set for road/overland but they don't and if they did I probably couldn't afford them due to their pricing structure!

I change mine (BFG AT's) at 25000 miles, last lot with about 8-10mm tread went for £250!! which evens out the pricing structure somewhat .. ;)

My next lot will be MT's .. ;)

I originally wanted BFG AT's but soon realised I could get 5 Grabber AT2's for the price of 4 BFG's, I've never had problems with them, done nearly 20k on them with very little wear, aside from the sidewall lettering which I'm convinced the Mrs is trying to scrape off:rolleyes:.
