bfg muds mine have hit 30k mostly on road backs are stil good fronts due replacement soon great value for the money and the grip have been impressed with snow traction they give

I run mine on Grabber AT2's. I was running on BF Trac edge and Coopers before that. Noticeably the AT2's have much better grip in the wet. Also worked well in the snow. Last year a group of us went to Morocco several of the other vehicles were running on AT's and they preformed well in the sand and rocks. One guy had BF and they didn't do as well as the AT2's the treads were chaffing from the rocky terrain.

Cheers foxy red I might go have a look.

What do people think about insa turbos?

Are they a nightmare on the road?

They are not too bad once you have got used to the noise like being chased by a Helicopter. I run a set on my 110 !

Also got some cooper mixed that have done about 30K and only half worn & a set of Bf muds (old style) that just refuse to wear out ! If we are going on a long journey I put my coopers on otherwise the bloody noise of the others drives you mad !

They come in different types. The Sahara Dakars are fine on the road, little bit of howl at speed but ok if you have a decent stereo.

The Special Track are more aggressive, ideal for pay and play etc, but also much noisier, and probably not such good handling and braking on road.

Special track handle supriseingly well on the road , I suppose they are going to wear quickly with road use and not be any good for what they are realy ment for !

Agreed, I've run mine for 20,000 km now and they are holding up well, they are fine in the dry and in the wet I simply don't throw it about anyway, after all is a 2.2 tonne tractor not a sports car.

Agree, but they probably wouldn't quite match the stopping distances of an AT, was all I meant.

And I always go slow on the road in a landy, about sixty, whereas ina car I would cruise at 80 if conditons were right, like yu say, it is a tractor, why not drive it like one.

I currently have 205/60 on my truck. They look small in comparison to the wheel arches. I have found some tyres that are 205/80. Will I have problems fitting these or should they be OK?

You have only changed the profile, the width remains the same (quite narrow). What "truck" do you have?

Defenders look **** with skinny wheels & tyres, some 235/85 look **** & skinny too but BF'S look ok ! I have 265/75 on mine and am more than happy with the way it stands/looks :)

I have a 110. It does look silly as the tyres look tiny on it at the moment. I have found some insa turbo 205/80 nearby and was hoping to fit these.
I know very little about tyre sizing

The 205 is the width & the 80 is the height (percentage of the width ) so it's still going to look silly :) Standard def tyre size is 235/85/16 so with a 265/75/16 they are wider and keep the same height as original !
