Best suspension setup?

Hi all,

Looking for advise on the best suspension setup for my disco.

2 or 3 inch?

dislocation cones or not?

Seems to be a million options.

Going to have a lift kit but which one?

Any advise would be great

I use HD springs which lift about an inch, but the biggest 'improvement' is with larger, good quality, tyres.

Personally, after running for a while on my setup I'd further improve it with +2" HD springs, +2" shocks then also -2" lowered turrets and shock mounts, cones all round (and spring retainers etc) new bushes all round, wide-mouth yokes on props, and possibly re-worked radius and trailing arms if necessary.

But I probably won't do any of that, 'cos we use our Disco a lot on-road, tow a caravan, and when off-road there's little that now stops us, probably 'cos I have to be able to drive it tomorrow too ..

My disco has been traybacked and is for an off road but road legal toy. I know there are extreme solutions but tight budget always comes into it.

Should have added, don't forget extended brake lines, extended breathers and a snorkel maybe. Snorkel's next on my list, probably either a Southdown kit or DIY .. I have some 68mm plastic tubing and some flexible hose, and my breathers are already extended ..
