I guess all big companies will occassionally get something wrong, but the likes of paddocks, craddocks, etc. got to where they are by doing something right.

Yes britpart are known as ****part for a reason... but... if you don't have much money and have a 'toy' land rover then, really, is it worth spending lots on a bit when a ****part one will do the job just as well (just may need a lump hammer to fix it) and when they break at least its cheap to replace again...

Mikes point re.**** part is valid. You cant blame a supplier if their customers demand cheap, cheap, cheap! Most suppliers have better quality options but you need to ask and be prepared to pay:eek:

In fairness to Paddocks, they're not the only ones whose "cheapest option" part is a Britpart one. Millions of Britpart parts on eBay and other suppliers. For many of the critical components, Paddocks and others offer cheap or OEM quality, sometimes a choice of 3 brands, etc. And not all Britpart items are rubbish - yes some of them are, but not all.

Like many here I think the criticism of Britpart is at least slightly unfair. You are getting what you pay for. But it seems Britpart have also been taking note of the comments - as of this month they are offering a 24 month warranty. Its going to be a big PR campaign so whoever your retailer is, be sure to ask about it.
