And the V8 it had before the 6bt

No the M57 325D same lump as the 330 but a few differences and a whole lot cheaper to buy. Can remap to around 270 easy enough.
I want to make a disco with the E62 V10 :d use a pair for garret's and you could have a serious 1000WHP disco. Just be interesting to find a drivetrain to handle the power! You would be refering to the M47 that would **** it's guts out at 300 then swallow them again just so it could **** them back out!

M57d30s aren't expensive to buy here though ;) Actually not many d25s about here.
It's the earlier M57 I'm using in the E30s though as a little less electronic crap like DBW throttle and things which would be more work to fit. with a re-map and stuff, it'll be more than adequate anyway. The later engine once re-mapped would have a silly amount of torque for a small car like an E30 anyway.

An E92 M3 gearbox will bolt upto the S85 from the V10 M5 no problem. Not sure how easy it would be to adapt to a LR transfer but anything is possible :)

Speaking of which... a V10 would be just plain stupid in a landrover in my opinion. I'd love to use the E39 M5 V8 S62 in a 90 though :)

Wasn't referring to the M47 at all. They're kinda **** really and only any good in an E46 in countries where the 330d is too expensive to run. The M51d25 from the E36 or E34 25tds is a cheap diesel engine that has reasonable power (around the TD5 mark) and can be brought upto 180bhp very easily and be pretty reliable.

The M57 has much more potential though and due to it sharing the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the M51, it makes fitting to a Landrover relatively easy due to the M51 coming in Range-rovers.

I vote cummins 6bt, not a cummins v8 cos they are huge!

All my cummins conversions are still running good, now and again I fancy doing another but I dont like landrovers anymore, so perhaps a d3 cummins conversion:D

The pic above was done at the same time as my six wheeler cummins conversion, we did a joint thread about them on some crappy forum, his eye for detail is excellent, and he worked at a company with a water jet the lucky sod;)

Mercedes om606 strait 6
Easy fit. Conversion plates available both for manual and auto boxs. You use a om603 pump with the om606 6mm elements in the pump. Put a hx35 turbo on and a easy reliable 250-300hp with no ecus. I even have a clutch kit brand new for this conversion for sale

yeah those E30's become interesting with power. A German lad off our BMW forum had an E30 with the M50 turbo lump running 680bhp #### me did that take off, M51 came in the rangie? :D that would be epic. M57 twin turbo rangie. Doozel LR with serious power. Would it note be possible to retro fit the E62's box? As I've seen a 530d with M5 box retrofitted.
