Just wondering what kind of mods people have done to their discoverys. I'm currently modifying mine for a trip so keen to see what weird and wonderful gadgets people have added.

"weird and wonderful gadgets" for a disco... is there such a thing?:)

Well I'm buying a iPad for mine to connect up to a nanocom and hopefully get my reverse camera hooked up to it. Either going to get it installed into the dash in a removable case or on a stand

Were you expecting missiles, hot tubs and helipads?
Funny u should say that :)

I'm thinking of fitting a landing deck and shelter for my drone on the roof.
After its landed a remote control 'pram hood arrangement' will fold over and protect the drone.
The hood will only close over when the weight sensor on the landing deck indicates the drone has landed safely and connected to it's charging dock, I can also get visual conformation with the deck mounted remotely controled cctv camera, and monitor in the dash, may have to have two cameras... we will see, and of course all this to be done up to speeds of 30 mph.. All standard stuff I would have thought.

Don't forget to post pics once you're done and we can compare.

Few things I've seen folks do to D2 interiors...

Rear window grills and load lugging shelf - stops glass being damanged if items go walkies
Cubby Box safe
LED lighting
Puddle lights
Additional vehicle monitoring, madman EMS, boost, EGT, coolant level sensor, oil pressure, etc guages
Dash pod - I've got a raptor pod in mine, have a combined digital gauge for boost, water temp, & EGT and various rocker switches, winch power, compressor, rear locker (this one on the wish list)
Double Din Head Unit
Retro fit leather interior - I've done this
Retro fit cruise control
Fit a D1 3/4 switch panel as a replacement for the ashtray - this can then be used for lighting controls, work lights, light bar, etc.
Rear drawers/shelving unit - sometimes extended into the cab with rear seats removed to provide a 'bed level'
Water tanks/Fridge to go under the above
Coleman type cooker that folds down on a replacement metal rear door card.
Compressor hidden in the 'cubby' of the passenger D pillar.

And lots more I can't remember, but a lot of it useful for overlanding.

Yeah see where you are coming from. All that stuff is vital if you break down in Huddersfield on a dark dismal night. Or anywhere in Yorkshire for that matter. ;):D:D:D

Led lighting is something I was looking at. Someone said there was a chap who would come to your house and do it. Never found out who it was

I've put a computer in mine (with Management software), this connects to the OBDC2 via bluethooth. also got a reversing cam hooked up to it.
I've also got lots of USB connectors everywhere.
Currently installing an auxillary battery, which will also be hooked up to computer, with my own bespoke software I am making to control things like the lights etc.
Also looking for some headrests with built in tvs.

I like the Drone idea, I would love to see the outcome of that when it's done :)

I'm looking to get an auxiliary battery and camera hooked up too.

In addition I'm also looking at putting a solar panel on the roof for charging the battery. Need to consult someone though to see how long it would take to charge the battery to a decent enough level to support the ignition incase the battery fails

I want to put a solar panel on mine, but it would defo get nicked where I live at the mo. I will be moving in the new year and can't wait, currently in a terrace house and have to work outside on the road (or go to my dads or brothers), but my new house will have a double garage, workshop and will be very secure with loads of outside space ... I CAN'T WAIT :)

Ive ordered a set of the fancy cup holders. Does that count :p
Best interior mod though was looking at the tacky "wood" dash trim yesterday and ripping the fecking thing off. Good god it looks better for it!
