Best Carburettor?

Can anyone advise on the best [SIZE=-1]carburettor for the 2.25 Petrol engine?

The engine occasionally cuts out and I'm sure it's down to the carb. I have a Weber unit on at the moment which I don't think can be reconditioned. I also have a spare Zenith.

Would it be better to put a new Weber on or clean up the Zenith?

Theres not much wrong with the Zenith carbs, if kept clean - refurb kits can be brought for not very much money and if it still works fit it rather than go to the expense of a new Weber (unless you want to have at least one shiny looking component under your bonnet)

In my opinion the Webber is more reliable, but the zenith gives getter performance, i would go with the zenith.

I reconditioned a Zenith. You have to take out the warp of the body and will need access to a machine shop. Kit was about £35 I think.

SU - the next step up is multipoint fuel injection.
