whats the best break disc's and pads to replace the ones on my 02 freelander? they are squeeling i changed the pads the other week but they are still squeeling so the only think i thourght it could be is,
a: cheep pads
B: dojy disc's
would i be right in saying replaceing both of these should eliminate the problem?

I replaced mine wiff standards from Paddocks [un the fronts squeeled like floppy moanin bout his v6] so i took orft rough bit on outer circumfrence using a bastid file [garages dunt do this on a 4x4 cos its a pain rotating the disc] anyhows copper slip on the anti squeel shims never on brake contact, and now as quite as slob is now. . . . .however if yer discs are well down [vernear or micrometer measure] then replace them un make sure its like fer like, ie/ vented or non vented [solids] er hope this snipitt helps earthlings :) :) :)

My freelander did the same squeeling, it is because they have a hard spot in the pads there is not alot you can do about it. :D i took mine in to the local 4 x 4 centre they cleaned the pads and disc up, they did not squeel for a while but then they started again.........

Our TD4's front brakes starting squeeling like a grass about a fortnight after I changed them for OEM pads. Turned out they weren't fitted right - they are not matched pairs and don't, as first glance would suggest, have mirrored chamfers.

The genuine parts and OEM parts are marked LO/LI and RI/RO to indicate which are left/right inboard/outboard.

Cheers
