I think he was suggesting squeezing the bags rather than trying to hold the ends on?

As it happens I have an almost new bag in the shed with the end cap off. If I get a chance I'll try to reassemble it and then see how easily it pops off again.

Let me know how you get on.:D

Not all in one go though. Little by little. Otherwise all the weight sits down one end and then it suddenly bobs up like an iceberg.

Well yes but that is what the EAS does, lifts the rears level then the fronts level, as the fronts lift the rears settle from weight transfer then the rears lift half an inch or so then the fronts to final position.

Thanks for the suggestions and the comedy! I have become despondent Wammers, vey much so!

I removed both rear pipes from the bag inlet today. Both seemed fine but vaselined em up and pushed em right in there- wahhey!!
But one bag is still loosing air, same one as before.
So next step is to replace the air pipe feeding it.

Has anyone done this before? I was thinking of joining the new pipe to the existing and pulling it through or is that not likely to work?

I will say now I've kind of got the hang of manually inflating it. For the short time it is on air the ride is sublime! Absolutely transformed the car and spurred me on to continue, anyone want to buy a coil conversion kit :/

I replaced all my air lines but just fed them through. Was straightforward enough but I cut off about an inch of the leading edge so had a nice clean pipe. If cutting the air line be sure to use the correct tool and not a Stanley knife etc

Ok I think I may aswell do all 4, did you just use standard 6mm OD pneumatic pipe?

And by correct tool I'm guessing a pair of sidecutters aka snippers to use the technical term?!

In fact when I bought mine from Airtec Andy in Bolton he offered me proper cutters at a pretty good price
A few quid

OK, more help needed!

After not being able to drive the car for the last week i attempted to get the EAS up and running this afternoon. Removed the by-pass loom, fitted a freshly charged battery and attempted to get the software to clear the codes.
Turned on ignition and experienced a new level of warning lights, noises and flashes?!

First off tried connecting using the Serial port on my laptop, but could not achieve a good idle contact. Tried using several comm ports on the software, got FF'S in and OUT, tried adjusting the idle scroll bar but could not get a good idle/communication.

So then i tried using the Serial to USB adapter lead using the USB port on my laptop. Installed the driver for the adapter, plugged the adapter into the USB port, window came up saying Comms port 8.

So plugged into the car, fire up EAS software, select Comms 8, click Initialize and sends 4 lines of zeros in the left box, returns 4 lines of 50's in the right box, then i get PP displayed in the left box, then the right, then the software crashes/freezes and you cant shut it down unless you end the process via task manager.

Any ideas, don't really fancy another week of paying for a hire car :/

I had to try every comms port when I got my kit, the diesel uses 8 and the petrol 3. I hate electrickery.
