New boots are on.

Need to go and test drive it - these rims have more balancing weights on them than the rims the Coopers are on - and they're on both the inner and outer sides, hope they don't wobble all over the shop!

Well the good news is that they feel more civilised than the Coopers did - maybe down to the wear that was on them.

No wobble or pulling, some tyre noise but that's to be expected. I'll let you know how they cope with motorway speeds.

Been meaning to ask how is your td5 running now after all your mods and custom mapping?

It's running great since I binned off those uprated head studs. Just don't think they were a good idea for a non competition vehicle, ie where they weren't going to be retorqued after every outing.

Just flew through the MOT this morning which is always a bonus.

You should use stick on weights. You can then build up the weight in one spot by layering - lol. It also gets them further out of the way when you're in deep mud.
My Special Tracks have 3 layers in some spots to achieve almost perfect balance on my modulars.
Garages never think of doing it & keep trying to insist stick-ons are only for alloys - as if it makes any difference.

If they give me any trouble at motorway speeds I'll get them re-balanced, thanks for the tip.

New rear prop arrived - fitting later

It's complete overkill but I keep eating the rear UJ on the 200 TDI prop that's fitted.

Slight delay putting the new prop on - managed to partially sever and break my index finger taking the old one off - oops!

Aye it's cut through the nail bed - they wanted me to go see a plastic surgeon but that seemed a bit daft tbh.

Well, to add insult to injury on the prop - I just realised it won't bloody fit. The t-case end flange is wrong, should be 80mm PCD like the D2 or D1 rear output, but it's got the D2 front output flange on it. FFS. Be on't phone to BM on Monday - fingers crossed they can sort it without too much faff.

Been on the phone to BM today, and all credit to them, they are collecting the prop, swapping the flange, and shipping it back, no charge.
