Hi all,

I have just joined after spending last 2 months working through the site trying to learn as much as poss about landies.

I have going to dealers (as i need to part ex my current car) over the last few weeks and driving as many 110 CSW's as possible to get a feel for as many as poss.

Anyway, whilst doing my daily internet search today, I came across a 1992 Land Rover Defender 200tdi in blue sold as "very original example, last owner 16 years large history file with documented R380 gearbox upgrade and cambelt changes. Traker high back seats, original paint and decals for £3,995 from The County and Defender Centre, Hinckley, 4x4 Sales

So I email the guy asking for mileage (as it wasn't stated in advert) and asking what condition the chasis and cross member is etc. And his answer and I quote was "this vehicle is no longer available in this condition. The base vehicle was so good and original we have sent it for refurb and will be back with us next week end at £6595. View site for new photos next week, Regards Mark"

Its going up £2500 from its current advertised price! Am i missing something here? I know that landies are dear and im prepared to pay good money for one but a £2500 hike after one email enquiry!?!

Any thoughts?

Cheers Matt

We bought a ringer & plod have seized it?

Or
We never actually had a decent one for sale but now we've got your attention can we sell you something else?

Haha I thought that 1992 at £3995 was about right? Do you think that was too much (from a dealer)? It seemed fair compared to the other robbin bstards (i mean dealers) ive been looking at ....
