Hi all,
Have had some problems lately (since all the flooding) of a constant 'squeel' from the engine (1.8)......really, really annoying as it sounds terrible driving around.

Have changed the alt/power steering belts etc & checked all the pulleys/sprayed them with a grease lubricant but they are fine.....yesterday i took off the timing belt cover & checked the belt for wear, seemed fine....started her up & sprayed directly on the belts/cogs & instantly the noise was gone:D:D

Let her run for a while & she was fine even on a short run BUT tonight the noise is back.......should i just change the timing belt/tensioner or spray it every 20 effing minutes:mad::mad:

Help............:lalala:

when was it last changed?

for the sake of £50 get a new belt and tensioner mate ;)

and inspect your water pump at the same time

Hi,

Only sprayed the silicon/grease to quickly find out where the problem is.......not sure when the belt was last changed but as you say for the sake of £50 at least i know its done........

Easy to do myself or should i stick it in the garage?

Cheers for the help....
