Disco 2 Tensioner/Aux Belt Issue.

Hi everybody,

I have a D2 and a Defender both 2000 TD5’s, the D2 has an issue with the tensioner making noise. I’ve fitted a new belt and tensioner, made no difference and also swapped new tensioner with the defender, works fine on the defender but not the D2. I’ve checked the belt length (1820 for TD5 with ACS no AC) and all matches. Any ideas??

Maybe it is different bearing at fault?

Have you ruled out the other rollers ?

Check that on the D2 the tensioner is turning exactly in line with the rest of the pulleys/rollers. Long straight edge.
