Just having a nosey and seeing what's what after being AWOL for a few years. Had to sell my 300TDi Disco due to divorce/relocation, but am now realising that my 200bhp Civic, although a great/reliable car, does not give me the satisfaction I had with the Disco.

So back on here to gain some info on the Disco 2 with a view to buying a rust free example (do they even exist rust free:rolleyes:??).

Hi, welcome back.
Think it's just luck to find a rust free one, wasn't any about when I was looking to get mine (unless I travelled a long way to get one).
Have a look on some Facebook groups, I've seen some up for sale now and then which has had rear chassis replacements.
If you do get one, budget for a nanocom. It was the first thing I got after I got my disco

Yes the rust free examples are going for silly money and just beyond my budget. But I have found one very clean example locally that was kept in a barn and has done about 5000miles the past few years and is only on 119K. Only issue that's cropped up is owner has had to use EKA code after fitting a new battery. Key fob has lost it's programming since using the EKA the other night:confused:.

I'm going to take a risk and buy it tonight hoping I can sort the fob issue without too much drama... but Land Rover have told the owner that the EKA code can only bee used 3 times max?

I had to use the EKA quite alot of times after I rechassied mine. The rf receiver in the roof was the culprit, bought a new one and works fine, it's a common fault.
Not sure but I reckon he meant you can get the eka code wrong 3 times then you have to wait a certain amount of time to re-enter it

Yes after searching threads on here I believe you're correct. Looks like it's had a new RF reciever and may be the fob that's the problem as there's movement inside it. Will sort a new one and get the spare re-coded as well.
