Hi Riddler,

Off the beaten track aye, we found it difficult on the track. It took us a couple of hours to winch and pull out all four of our motors last weekend due to some farm tractor digging massive ruts! We'll post any future outings here. keep checking, Jai.

Hi. I'd like to tag along next time hopefully, esp. santa Pod. Just a note of caution re farmers/going off track - don't forget that the farmers own the land and they don't always like to see recreational 4x4's. Best to keep them sweet! More people want to ban 4x4's from the country than enjoy seeing them doing amazing feats of gravity defiance! Keep within the law and all will be fine. What is the Harlington Byway like? Is it long or short? Where is it? Might have a go.

It's a legal byway open May - Sept, at the bottom of the Sharpenhoe Clappers, towards Harlington.
Do not go alone. Do not go without someone with a winch. It was perfectly drivable, just a bit tricky in 2 places, until Farmer Giles drove it in his tractor, the ruts are so deep now, it's almost impossible.

110 Daddy if you want to try it give me a shout before Sunday I'll go up there with you, Im not gonna do any other lanes, but that is very local to me. We so fly model planes just 300 meters away from one of the entrances, so I'll probably hang around there.

I'm sure a few others may wish to come to do the lane but then miight go off and do the Hitchen/Offley afterwards. Jai.

I went over ashwell today, thought it was quite good nothing too major, nice and open so i wouldnt scratch my disco

Thinking of going back over there next weekend too

We're still doing the lanes, had a couple of good weekends out the last few weeks, Spyderman should be back around this week so maybe he'll hook up for this weekend's adventures.

The few ive been down round ashwell so far have just been open land like stuff, some bits have been a bit soggy

There was one lane i had to turn round on though, else id have defo got stuck with my road tyres

Not sure where to try this weekend, went over to south of Hitchin/whitwell etc with the RR boys and Jai last weekend, that was pretty good fun, though not too taxing. Fancy a light one this week, really like steppingly, the kids get 20 minutes with a football, perhaps we could go that way and head up toward north bedford? I hear there are some reasonable lanes that way but don't have OS for that area or memory map yet. Thoughts?

I always like Steppingley. We could do that, then head north. Some of the lanes north of Bedford should have opened up today, although most don't open till May 1st. Saturday or Sunday? I'd prefer Saturday as the GP is on Sunday, but I could always tape it.

OOH I just brought a CB finally after my last one destroyed itself at Brickhill, after an over enthuisatic hill decent! (still got a clear minus some wheel spats!).

Anyway hope to see some of you tomorrow night at the pub meet thing i'll be there from 8 till whenever. Spyderman you can have a look at my xcl's see whats what. I Don't think ill be making next weekend though, :-( . I have got to get my mota sorted at some point.

The few ive been to are very open, no risk of scratching/bending it

We could meet up if you want and ill show you them!, theres loads more too but i have not seen them yet, got them all as POI`s on my navman
