Surely things like wifi frequencies are standard across the globe. Most of the range rovers RF problems were with the domestic wireless applications like doorbells, wifi and petrol station signs etc and I would have thought they shared the same RF spectrum. To be fair to Land Rover most of these applications didn't exist when the P38 hit the streets. Maybe in the US these things were common before they were in the UK thus LR had to address the US market first. I know I never had any RF issues with my '95 Cherokee.

US frequencies for FOB's and such are different, the LR RF receiver for the US is different, the US market is/was the only market that was important to LR, the US spec RF receiver was better:)
 
Yep, I've replaced loads of RF receivers & programmed the keys with the parts bouight from the states. They're far better quality.

Regarding the static indicators, depending whether one side stays on static or all four corners, but the becm has a feature where the static indicators are displaying a visual warning. I've got the engineers file on this in my workshop, but off the top of my head, all four lights on indicate a major upset & a reset is required.
 
I have a P38 Range Rover Vogue 4.6 V8 Petrol, with Nicholson McLaren SRi Autogas which I don't use as it's faulty.

In July 2012, whilst parked on a camp site in Lincs my 4 hazard lights came on [and stayed on]. They weren't flashing, just stuck in the 'on' mode.
Disconnected battery overnight then drove home next day. No further problem until going back to the same campsite 2 weeks later, and guess what? Yep, the hazards came on and stayed on!!
Car had major service following day and all was well until 25 August when I went back for the third time to the same campsite.
During that same day, people told me that the alarm kept coming on and going off, and yes, the hazards stayed on!!
I was recovered by my breakdown service to my specialistRange Rover garage near my home in Wisbech, who reprogrammed the BECM Box in about 20 minutes, and the car seems fine now.
However, the garage advised me that they have not necessarily cured the problem because whatever caused the hazard lights to keep coming on has not been identified, and the car could still let me down!

Some opinions suggest that the original hazard light problem is where the origin of the problems begin, and may have caused the BECM box to finally shut down. The BECM box may have shut down because it decided that the car was "being tampered with" and shut down to prevent further tampering. This 'tampering' didn't actually happen, but the BECM box reacted as if it WAS being tampered with.
Others suggest that carrying car keys in your back pocket and then sitting on them can cause the BECM box to be confused and it then shuts down because the 'remote' has been activated by sitting on the key fob.
Next week my garage are replacing both sets of buttons for the two sets of keys [cost about £20] that I have as the remote buttons have now 'lost' the little rubber covers that activate the locking/unlocking mechanism and the coin-operated battery access covers are burred over so they're going also. So, the car is parked at home unlocked, which is far from ideal!
There could also be a fault in the BECM box itself which was replaced in 2009 when I bought the car.

Has anyone had a similar experience on a 2001 P38 Vogue? My garage has at least two other 2001 Range Rovers which demonstrate identical behaviour to mine; the garage imply that 2001 P38's have this problem in common.....
Any help would be so welcomed.....thank you for reading all this.

To all those people who helped me with my P38/BECM problem, I have just had a new RF Receiver fitted [£188!!] and have had no further problems with the car [supposedly] picking up 433Mhz signals from God knows where.
I have been back to the same camp site just once since without problems....However, I never had the balls to lock the car during my stay in case this provoked a repeat of my 3 consecutive breakdowns while visiting this site....

So, a big 'thank you' to all those who genuinely tried to help.
