it does happen ,you only need to look at numbers of factories closed here ,they source from other suppliers but unlike pattern which is now based purely on cost they stipulate quality as well,though that tends to be less than original

Went to start the RR after doing the timing chains and no fuel being pumped so checked the in tank pump which was replaced 8 months ago and car not used for 3 months. pump not pumping have to replace .
this is the second pump that has packed up in 18 months both britpart so have ordered a OEM one from Island and see how that one goes.

If something is a low tech solid lump of metal with few or no moving parts I'm happy to buy Britpart, if it's something more complicated I tend to buy branded or OEM. I did buy Britpart blend motors (because they can't be any worse than OEM!) and a Britpart trackrod assembly because several on here had Lemforders (sp?) go pretty quickly. My Britpart trackrod assembly has about 15K miles on it and is still fine.

My car had a Britpart water pump just before I bought it - it lasted about six months. I think some Britpart stuff is fine - a lot is junk.

Lowtech Britpart window regulators are not much good, the bearing for the motor shaft is wrongly dimensioned

Not surprised! Basically I fit Britparts bits if the bits can be fitted with a lump hammer! (blend motors apart)

I didn't buy the part and I advised the bloke who bought it not to buy Britpart, I was able to replace the bearing but it slowed the fitting somewhat.
