Bearmach or Britpart Roofrack

OK so mentioning Britpart is like swearing but every so often they do have the answer.

I was seriously considering the Britpart roofrack for my 110 (DA1090, flatpack). It is light at only 31kg and is only needed for carrying Bikes and occational long lengths (along with a convieniant mounting for a bit of extra light ).

But just before I clicked buy I noticed Bearmach do a very similar rack (BA008, flatpack) for around the same money. It weighs in at up to about 5Kg heavier (depending on where you check the specs) due to having 6 legs on each side rather than the Britpart having 4 each side and the Bearmach has diaganal bracings in the corners.

Question - any opinion which rack is best for my purpose? Are the extra legs a help or do they stiffen up the roof risking cracking etc.?

All thoughts welcome but if its just a generic "all Britpart is ****", I've already heard it!

The Bearmach one does look stronger with stiffeners on corner legs as well as the extra legs. On Rimmer bros site and Bearmach is only £9 more expensive worth it for the extra strength. Wouldn't think it would cause any cracking more chance of the Britpart one flexing and bending with out the extra supports. IMHO

Mate i use Mantec roof bars. Cheap but very strong and look good too.

I already have a set of bars I use. Im looking for a rack to make it easier to load Bikes etc. (a defender roof is a long way up to balance
Bikes from the ground, I need the rack to stand on)

And the extra legs will spread the load out more evenly.

Keep hunting fleabay I've seen a few Hannibal ones come up used and they are exceptional!
