Hi all

I work for a television company called Platform Productions which is based in Manchester. We are currently filming an observational documentary series about the National Parks for BBC FOUR.

The series poses the question “who are the National Parks for?” and one area we have been exploring in the Peak District are the differences in opinion between off-roaders and ramblers/local community.

We would like to speak to any off-roaders who feel they can offer an insight into this debate.

You can call me on 0161 236 4602 or email [email protected].

Thanks

Andrew

Please do not talk to any off road driving idiots, who are a very very small minority but manage to be around when t.v. companies are filming, or do the idiots make for better t.v. and thats why your industry films them.
If you re-post this later you will get a better response.
Good luck with your project, but please do it with an unbiased slant against off road drivers. We all have a right to enjoy the countryside, and the vast majority do it responsibly and legally.
Thanks

the sods dont have a clue what theyre on about most the time and just cant live and let live because theyre so self opinionated and convinced of their own superiority

Somebody needs to rationally and sensibly contact the Beeb about this.

Otherwise we'll end up with at documentary that is completely one sided or, that dreaded sentence, ''members of the 4x4 community refused to take part''...which sounds like we couldn't care less when actually the opposite is true..

Firstly is or isn't this spam??

Secondly I visit national parks, but as far as I'm aware have never driven off road in one. Also I'm really not sure what the question is.

Is it

Who are the National Parks for and :-

A, What are the differences of opinion between people who off-road legally, ramblers and the local community?

or

B, What are the differences of opinion between people who off-road illegally, ramblers and the local community?

And why have you phrased that part of your post the way you have

"the differences in opinion between off-roaders and ramblers/local community."

Because it reads to me as if in reality the question is what are the differences of opinion between anyone who goes off road, legally or otherwise versus ramblers and the local community.

Company checks out..i think its best to hold back with the suspicion and paranoia until theres more facts. Maybe it is an opportunity for an open dialogue for a change. If we start slagging the OP off or ignore the offer we'll get nowhere.
