battery probs ?

hi all
back after a period of relative calm ,not without issues though ,one being battery drain disconnected rf arial and all was ok for 4/5 months ,but this christmas everyone down our street must have recievd wifi gadgets .and sure enough 3 days max and dead battery ,finally bought a new reciever 230 quid sturgess ,all fine since then .apart from last wkend mentioned to wife seems slow turning {normally first click and away }sure enough 2 days later dead ,charged battery put on . alarm goes off and lockout .looked on forum waited 30 mins done code all ok ?have metered battery when fully charged 12.75v ,engine on 14.40,turn off its at 12.80 v ,then 10 mins ltr 12.72v.30mins 12.60v.60 mins 12.54v,2hrs 12.4v, 12hrs ltr 12.30v
so do i have a drain ?although was tested last summer by aa when it was left outside our chalet for a wk and died [pre new rf]he said it was fine ,so was kinda hoping duff battery as its still got 2 months of its 2yr gtee halfrauds ,on the down side i only use at wkends and the odd night free taxi service but dont have any elecs apart from heater/lights dont use radio much whats the point its a 4lt v8 i like the sound any ideas ?

I'd head back to Halfords and get them to check the battery.
If it's duff you get a new one, if it's not you've got a drain.

was just concerned as it was putting out 12.30v. they would say it was charged and it just isnt powerfull enough although it was there reccomendation according to my reg and there computer ,its 550amp mod nmb hcb072 ,or has my rf problem weakened its storage ?thanks

Not sure but don't think your battery is the right one don't think big enough,sure the one i got for mine was like 900amp or something i've looked at receipt but no actual details of battery on it but sure someone on here will tell you. i wouldn't trust what halfords said,or their batterys.

was having a niggling feeling it wasnt man enough .will see what reading i get over the next few days ? ,and see what halfords have to say .i guess the battery data is on about will fit a 4lt petrol ?

Yep, fits all apparently

update to battery problems
friday went to halfords with battery ,[which was now showing 12.2v]ended up with a replacment 750 amp at no extra cost ,which i replaced outside the shop, window open ,reset windows all ok ?.sunday started fine for the weekly shop ,after filling up the trolly and lumbering back to car no central locking ,insert key only drivers door unlocked still alarmed tried the code nothing so opened door alarm goes off get in car after loading shopping goes off again and now tells me lockout ' wife not happy ,after fiddling [panic]pressing button on key in and out of barrel the doors unlocked ? and it started ,have gone out last night and tnight and locked unlocked car on remote all ok any ideas ,thats new battery .new rf module .new key batterys ,starting to lose it. please dont say its becm.
any one?? ideas, cheers

Could have been where you parked, if was near a electricity substation, cell phone mast, power lines etc can play havoc with remote locking/immobilisers, move the car 10ft & problem solved.

I didn´t change all what you had done, but recently I start (my wife) to have this "nightmare".
One solution that I found, is sometimes the fob1 don´t open, but the fob2 open, and vice-versa (it´s not a fob problem, I swap them and the syndrome still happens).
Next time try with the other fob/key.

I agree with you, but for what I had read in here, the new/last RF receiver, don´t fix!
So we have 2 solution:
Sell the car,
Stay away from civilization (I love this, until the RR breakes)

HI ALL THANKS FOR REPLYS
have always parked in same place when i go shopping .give or take a couple of bays,as i always had to put my code in as i always lost sync due to masts on the roof ,but this hasnt happened since i replaced module ,apart from last wk when it went into lockout mode ,but when it happened in my drive i had to wait 20 mins for light to go out on dash then put in code all ok whereas at shopping when it happened pressing key fob [whilst alarm was gojng off ]putting key in and out of ignition frantic it cleared and started ?so total lack of confidence now
